Texting
Step 1
Open the green speech-bubble on the home screen.
On most phones it sits along the bottom row. The icon is a little green box with a chat tail — that is your messages.
Step 2
Tap the name, then type what you want to say.
Pick the contact from your list. Have the learner say out loud what the message is before they type it — it makes the typing easier.
Step 3
Tap the arrow to send. Read the little icons below.
A dot means it left your phone. A second dot means it reached theirs. A third dot or two blue ticks means they’ve read it. If there’s only one dot, the network is still working — give it a moment.
Step 4
To send a picture, tap the little camera icon.
It sits beside the text box, often on the left. Tap it, pick a photo from the album that opens, and it attaches to your message.
